acoustics." Carreras makes his "debut" at the
musicians' rest home. At its centenary - the first new inhabitants came in

of the world." What about restoration? "I think it is necessary. For
me it is important that they preserve the acoustics. There was a point on the
stage (the so-called Callas point - editor's note), two meters from the prompt-box,
from where the voice can acquire the greatest power and where one should
place the singer". Carreras hopes the necessary technical renovation
will result in good acoustics, better than that of Teatro Liceu in Barcelona,
which after its exceptional restoration got a hall with a not very good acoustics. In the next days in Parma Carreras will
receive a Verdi voice prize besides young Chinese and Korean [singers], also awarded
a prize. "The Latin singers, the historic Don Josщ concludes, have more ability,
